Roberto Chang was born in the Bronx to a Latin mother and an Asian father. Growing up, he learned to cook from his mother and grandmother, blending flavors from both sides of his heritage. As a teenager, Roberto became passionate about DJing, playing music outside his house in the Bronx for neighbors and friends.
One day, while spinning music, he brought out food he had made with his family. To his surprise, people started asking if the food was for sale. Instead, he gave it away to gauge their reactions, and they loved it. This sparked an idea: he began selling food and drinks alongside his DJ music on the street. The combination of music and food quickly became a neighborhood favorite, with crowds growing every time he set up.
Seeing the enthusiasm, Roberto realized he had created something special—a unique experience that blended his love for food, music, and community. What started as small gatherings outside his house soon became a local phenomenon. The Latin and Asian Street Food Experience was born, and Roberto knew this was just the beginning of something much bigger. Roberto claims; FOOD IS MUSIC FOR THE BODY while MUSIC IS FOOD FOR THE SOUL!
“Taste the Experience!” became more than a motto; it represented Roberto’s vision of celebrating culture and connection through food and music. His journey was only beginning, but his passion and the community’s support made it clear he was onto something special.
This inspired the creation of the Roberto Chang Food Franchise!
